Double Bass Deodorizing a bow case

Hi,
Anyone have any suggestions on how I can deodorize a bow case? I just had my bow rehaired (Black hair) & bought a new bow case at the same time. After one week of use, I noticed a smell sorta like dried saliva (don't ask) :).
Any suggestions on how I should deodorize the case? I don't think it is the rehair as the bow smells fine.
Thanks,

thanks, bassist14. another bassist told me to place a piece of charcoal wrapped in cloth inside the case & leave it in for a week as the charcoal would absorb most of the smell.
I'll try the charcoal first then the fabreeze as I'm worried about the chemicals inside the spray damaging the finish on my bow.
Once again thanks & let me know any other ideas you may have.

I've already tried sunning it last Sunday but not much improvement. I'll sun it again this weekend and put some tissue wrapped charcoal inside. In the meantime, I just have to put up with the dirty looks from the cello section. :).
I haven't tried the fabreeze option as I'm worried about chemicals.
Thanks

If you don't want to go through the hassle of vacuuming the baking soda out of there, just put a couple of teaspoons worth in a tissue closed up with a twist-tie and pop that in there for a few days. I've had success deodorizing similar small enclosed spaces this way.

Leaving it in the sun will usually work if it is mold. What you are smelling may be chemicals from the manufacture of the lining or glues from assembly etc. I have had some cases with funky odours right from new. What I did was leave it open for a while and just let it air-out. The smell doesn't disappear altogether but it should improve.
