Destroyed Jack Casady found on CL

this just showed up on Melbourne Craigslist

I've sanded an Epiphone Jack Casady. I was expecting a nice natural wood finish to appear, but these things are veneered for whatever reason; even under a solid black finish. I wager that the CL guy tried to do the same and ran into similar issues. Removing a tough poly finish from an instrument, only to then discover that the tough poly finish covers a thin veneer, quickly turns into deep water to find yourself in.

I sold my JC as a stripped down carcass much worse than this one!
