exactly, I did too. I gigged my alembic for everything from studio work to playing dive bars with an original grunge band I was a member of. Dumb dumb dumb...!
I owned those back in the 80s when we thought it was cool to play Alembic basses in bars and nightclubs....
(actually, I think it still is, but 35 years later, some common sense has kicked in....)
absolutely.... I gotta say, playing in a grunge band in a dive bar with drunks everywhere and a 5 digit bass is a stress causer.... it's ironic that the only damage that ever happened to that bass while I owned it while it was sitting in a stand, not being playing, at my band's house... by a child.Yeah, it was....
But pretty awesome at the time, wouldn’t ya say!...
Dive bar violence got NOTHING on kids, I'm telling ya...
I know the logic of wanting to keep a cool bass pretty, but it is an instrument and you actually played it! Cool things are meant to be used and enjoyed.
