DFA1979 is reforming!!!

Death From Above 1979, my favorite band with Jesse Keeler, one of my favorite bassists, has been stated to reform to play Coachella 2011. Regardless if they release a new album or not, at least we got Keeler away from the computers/turntables of MSTRKRFT (very good mind you, but no DFA1979.) and back to the dark side of bass guitar for a few shows.

While I'm in this forum (:D) does anyone know Keeler's set up? I know he used a Gibson Ripper/Ric4003 through old Fender/Acoustic heads, and Ibanez chorus pedals.

I heard about this and got sad, cause I won't be able to go. It's unknown if they'll be making new music together, or even if they'll have a show after this. I really hope so, I want to see them live, they're my favorite band.

It makes me sad too, but I'm assuming there's going to be some neat stream or video of the performances. Before I fell back to sanity, I strongly considered driving cross-country to see DFA1979, Cold War Kids, Lightning Bolt, and !!!. This looks to be the best festival of music of ALL time, or at least in recent memory. It would be cool if they booked LCD Soundsystem instead of Kanye or something.

According to Google maps I'd have to kayak, and right now that doesn't sound so bad. Consider a cross-country trip a great idea.I actually liked Kanye's latest album, and that's coming from someone who could not stand hip hop at all, it's the only hip hop album i'd touch to be honest.

I couldn't get into it, but maybe that's the hipster indie kid in me telling me to hate hype. I love old school hip hop and the only newer stuff I touch are acts like Atmosphere or the Roots.
