DG Alpha Omega Head, but what cab?!

So I have been researching, watching videos, reading articles, looking at reviews and I have finally chosen the DG Alpha-Omega bass head and my future amp head for my rig.

Now comes the tasks to picking out a cab(s). I do know that the 1st cab is going to be 4x10. Later I want to add 1x15. I chatted with Sweetwater and their suggestion is Mesa Boogie Subway cab. That seems like a safe pick. I have no problem using MB. Great deep dark tone and very reliable.

The sound I am working on currently is more a boosted mid, reduced lows & highs. Its a more aggressive "floppy" kind of sound. It is a mild version of Korn's bass tone.

However, I was to do a thorough search. Is there any other suggestions that you might recommend? The DK head is 900 watts, and can switch between 2 and 4 ohms. Thank you all in advance for helping me out. I really appreciate it.

I definitely would not pair a 1x15 with a 4x10, as the 4x10 will overpower the 115 and you will be limited by the single driver cabinet.

I will fully agree that Mesa Subway cabs are the way to go, but I would get a 2x10 and a 115, or better yet two 115's.

If you want a 4x10 and want two cabs, I would get two matching 4x10's. The Subway 410 cabs are fantastic...well all of the Subway cabs are fantastic :)

Thank you for the advice. I have not heard that before when pairs cabs together. I like the idea of a full 8x10 stack. That might be the way to go.

Thank you Mmbongo for your insight. I think moving forward I will work towards 2 4x10 cabs. Of course they are most expensive of the Subway series at over $1,500.

My two 410's are voiced differently and it fills up a lot of space. Rather than get 2 410's if I was getting something new it would likely be the Mesa PH1000, which is a 410 with a single 15 in the center. This covers a lot of ground and is tuned to run together.

I looked up the PH1000. I really like it. It is also discontinued. Mesa only makes the Subway cabs now for bass.

Darkglass is changing manufacturers for their cabs. There are some available but they're in the process of working with someone else to produce the cabs for them. This has been stated by DG (fairly certain). Sweetwater and GC want to sell you something right now and they have none in stock. For the Subway I'd get a 212. There are literally tons of great cab options. Bergantino is certainly an option

I've read many TB reviews that did not care for the DG cabinets, in particular regarding their weight.

If it was my decision, I'd get Bergantino cabinets. My dream would be a stack with an HDN410 and HG412. Eventually, I'd love to own both a Forte and a Darkglass Alpha Omega, with the means to switch the signal back & forth.

That sounds cool. Why a Forte? Never heard of them. I think I have run across Bergantino cabs before but I do not know too much about them. Pretty expensive from what I have seen so far though l. Lol

When it's time to purchase... I've based my choice on watching a number of YouTube reviews on them. Andy Irvine has some excellent demonstrations with Bergantino heads & cabinets.

Thank you all for all the help so far. It is really a quagmire trying to find the best cab to fit the amp head I want and the sound I desire. @TolerancEJ, I will defiantly look at some of Andy Irvine's reviews to see what he says on the matter. The Bergantino cab sure do look good. Will hurt the pocket book a bit, but so would Mesa Boogie.

I found a Mesa PH1000 for an AMAZING price. But the dang thing is huge and heavy as heck. Just may not be practical sadly to say. The search continues. My time table for making all of these purchases is about Oct-Nov. So I got some time here to play with.

I'm in the same boat, I just ordered the alpha omega and have been looking for cabinets for about 2 months now. I have been really considering either a fearful 15/15/66/1 or the 15/6/1 with the 15 sub. Maybe something to check out. I had never heard of these until a couple weeks ago.
