I am considering to buy an Avalon U5 (mainly to record) and really would appreciate any inputs on this DI, as I cannot try one (it is very difficult to find one here in Portugal).
I currently own a BDDI, which I like vey, very much. Is the Avalon U5 a step forward.
Can someone share some sound clips?

How is the Sansamp RBI compared with the Avalon U5?

And the RBI compared with the BDDI? As I said before I have a BDDI. Is the RBI a step forward?

sansamps are killer but if you want a really cool distortion w/ the DI get a MXR bass DI, i had for a while, but not long enough to see how sturdy it was.

I have the Behringer. Great price, and sturdy as anything. This thing takes a beating and you do have to worry about anything breaking off!
May not be the best, but it is certainly a good workingman's DI.
