DI Comparison (Apollo Direct, Whirlwind IMP2, RNDI, Reddi)

Recorded my 92 AVRI P w/flats through three DI's as well as direct into the hi-z input on my Apollo. I'll be darned if they all just sound like a P with flats to me . Subtle differences here and there, but not a dang thing that'd come through a full PA/busy in ear mix. Think I'm finally convinced I can sell the fancier DI's cause dang if I'd even have a preference of any of these four in a live or in-ear context!

Recorded the four takes and had my pal mix up the order. Will ask him for the order after we get some guesses in! I know I'm going to absolutely get these wrong but figure I'd take a whack at it:

1. Apollo Direct
2. RNDI
3. Whirlwind IMP 2
4. Reddi

I know there are a lot of die-hard Reddi/RNDI fans out there so if there's anything that you hear that makes it obvious to you which one is which I'd be VERY interested in how you can identify them/what makes them stick out because I'm very much trying to convince myself that it's worth keeping these fancy toys :smug:.

Cheers! :bassist:
