Every show I play with my band, the sound guy usually insists on using his own DI box before my amp. My amp has a bit of its own sound to it and some higher frequencies cut to create my tone....so is it wrong for me to want him to use the amp's DI?
I can understand WHY he wants to use his own. He can trust his own stuff and that's one less variable in the equation if something's not going right.
But I just want my sound to be heard how I want it to be heard, ya know? I shape my tone for a reason....
So Is it wrong to ask the soundguy to use my DI, and then if there's a problem, he can use his? Or should I just get another fish&chips EQ and shape my tone with that and leave the amp's settings completely flat?
I know the answer is probably already "yes, it's wrong, yes just get another EQ" but I just want to see what you all think...the last thing i want to do is piss off/offend the sound guy.
