So I broke down today and ordered a new WEN band-saw from Lowes. Best price, on-line only to be delivered next week. My second major power tool requiring a stand. I had a small table saw at one point but it failed a couple years ago. A band saw is more versatile. This one was affordable, had good reviews, a small footprint, light/easy to move... looks to be all I need. Will allow me to continue with this and other projects unabated.

Band-saw arrived late yesterday - assembled it and initiated its first cuts. As the theme is 'road-worn' I abraded/scratched the mirrored acrylic from the bottom - tricky tricky...

2 coats shielding paint in the cavity - underside of top control cavity copper taped - silent operation.

Kubicki pre installed -

I went with some tort I had - was thinner than the mirrored acrylic and thickness of the cavity was tight. Need to scuff it up a bit - too shiny.

Rock & Roll ... 9lbs/4oz - I can live with that -

Sounds killer - can't go wrong with those ingredients - I'll take better light pics in the AM.

note: the wood wedge to keep it upright takes the place of a Dunlop Strap-Lok strap - when engaged, the bass can be leaned upright against an amp due to strategically moving the lower strap peg.

Another couple upgrades to my A/S J -

Aluminum side dots. Much easier to see in low-light.

1/8" aluminum rod stock

Removed the anodized black from the pointer-knob bevels to aid in seeing where they are pointed. Also painted the vertical inset slots in the lower skirted control white. Lower control has a mid-detent to find the 1/2 way point.
