Did Paul made a mistake on My Love?

I believe he did! I played a special event last night at Noce, a local Des Moines IA nightclub that was all from Billboard Top 100 of 1973. In learning the bass part for the song I was surprised to hear Paul's descending bass line during the guitar solo. Every other time on that line in the tune, it goes D-C-Bb-A-|G///| which follows the chord pattern. However paying close attention I found that during that guitar solo he actually plays D-C-BNatural-A-|G///|. Check it out. - Mistake or deliberate? I think mistake and he just didn't want to re-record it.
Your opinion?

There are imperfections all over Beatles albums. As a production exercise once I listened to the Sgt Pepper album and marking down where I heard artifacts of the recording process. There were A LOT in there if you listen carefully.

Maybe it was a flub that was left in because it was a good take. Maybe it was deliberate. Maybe it wasn’t Paul playing bass for the Wings song. Could be anything.

Interesting info. Apparently it was recorded live in the studio WITH the orchestra.
If that’s the case than there’s a good chance it was just a “bad” note in a great take, that wasn’t worth re-recording with the full orchestra. Each take is a lot of money and if you overwrite a great take it’s lost forever.

Unless, the chord changed that time around and the B natural is the right note for the chord. But you’d have to know what all the other instruments are playing there and I definitely don’t know the song.

Ain’t that Denny Laine on bass on that track, since Paul plays keys on it? According to wiki Denny played bass and Paul played the Fender Rhodes electric piano on it. Plus Denny played bass on that track live, for sure, and on many others. Paul needs a guitar/bass person to play bass when he switches to piano/keys.
