Did people sleep on Tech21?!

been on team sansamp since forever, but with the pedal on my board what do i need a "bass amp" at all for?

any ol' power amp will do perfectly, and since i'm pretty confident QSC knows more about building actual power amps than tech 21, that's what i use

I definitely missed the bus on the VT500. If I recall correctly, Tech 21 made a 1000 watt amp as well.

I really wish I would’ve tried a Sansamp preamp/D.I. pedal eons ago.

I bought the GED-2112 rackmount preamp a few years ago. It’s fantastic, IMO. I run it with one of my stereo power amps.

Then, I bought an RBI preamp, and it’s also fantastic.

……Now, if I can only find a used VT rackmount preamp, I’ll be set.

I liked my VT500 head and the only reason I sold it was over time the circuit board screws would slowly rattle loose and create a pretty audible vibration noise during gigs, even tried Loktite. However keeping the head off the top of my cabs worked but was a bit of hassle.. Anyway, sounded great otherwise.

I never saw a combo or head in the wild, but everyone and their brother has a BDDI and you can plug that into the amp you already own. So, I think their market mostly already had the amp effectively.

I own a VT & VT-DI, but never saw an amp in person…. Would’ve loved to tried a VT amp.

Trademark guitar amps were a lil ahead of their time…. I feel like the Micropro line from quilter was very similar.

I've had a VT500 since shortly after their release and I'm never giving it up. Haven't had one issue with it. The only legit criticism is the DI output is affected by the volume control so I either run a DI from my pedalboard or set it and forget it.

I have a VT500 amp and up until about a week ago I was planning on selling it. I was running it through a Barefaced Super Twin T and really not liking the tone. DI was good, but through the cab was farty and ugly. I finally got to try it next to an Ampeg SVT II into a 212av and was very surprised how close I could get them. I realized the Barefaced cab is what I don’t like. To clean and hifi.

I decided to keep it and actually started looking for a backup. There was another VT500 on Reverb for about $375 until yesterday.

There is a NOS Dug Ultra 1000 amp on Reverb now for around $1500, but it’s in Germany.
