Precisions have that great growl, they're the rebel on a motorbike of the Fender bass family. The Jazz is more of a bookworm type, very articulate and non-threatening.
I've got an Aerodyne Jazz which has both a Jazz and a P pickup which works great for me. But if you want both and prefer the P neck get a Precision Aerodyne.
