differences in amp outputs

what is the difference between a line out jack and a speaker out jack? can you record with either? right now i have a behringer bx1200 with a speaker out, but i had an old ibanez with a line out, and i was wondering which is better for recording, if in fact one is better than the other.
Thanks!
Charlie

A speaker out is for speakers ONLY. Never connect anything else to it (except maybe a load box).

A line out is the same electronically as a preamp out or FX send. All three outputs give a line level signal which can be used for recording.
