Digitally programmable - Analog Path

Hello,
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this thread, it is partially because the answer could be a multi-effect.

I play in a cover band and we play really diverse stuff so I need easy access to presets for Drive, EQ, Volume, via foot switches. But I want an all analog signal path, or at least the drive stage. Effects would be welcome but not neccessary. The Sansamp Programmable BDDI exactly fits the description but there's one problem: I don't like how it sounds.
I have also found the TC Electronics Nova System that has an analog drive stage and digital effects, but it's designed for the guitar so I am reluctant to get it, especially since I can not try one for its sound. I have even seen a couple of MIDI programmable bass heads (Ashdown Superfly and some Yamaha head).
So if you could contribute to my search I would be grateful.
What are my options?

Thanks a million.

Look into the Sansamp PSA-1, it has digital programming but with a fully analogue signal path so I think that would cover your basic requirement. It has no effects of it's own other than OD/distortion depending on how you set up your patches. It's rackmount (but footswitchable with a simple two button midi footswitch), I don't know if that's a plus or negative to you.

Thanks steve, I 'll look into that, that's definitely a candidate.

Kooldac, I understand a bit of electronics enough to figure out the circuit but I don't see how it could help in my case. It looks like a simple switch for multiple instruments.
