Digitech Whammy alternatives?

Love my whammy. Have had just about every version. Is there anything new out there that has the same features but doesn’t take up the same space as 3 medium size pedals?

The expression pedal portion seems to limit how small any whammy-like effect can be, but if you can do without that the Digitech Richochet looks pretty neat.

I would happily use an expression pedal not mounted on the board, if a smaller unit had the same harmony capabilities. Wish the bass whammy was the same size as the original whammy.

the Ricochet is very small. I have found out that the 'classic' mode suck a bit of tone compared to the 'chords' mode even in bypass, but the pitch shifting sounds better (more analog) in classic mode.

Meris Enzo is pretty good but not perfect. Hedra would be ok too, maybe better? The Enzo will do mono tracking well and has a filter to dial out some of the digitals. You can set-up patches to do the harmonies. It has some down sides and in the end takes up about the same space if you implement midi (which you need to access presets and have an expression pedal). These would be good if you already have the other parts to make it work.

You could get into HX stomp territory too. All in one, hook up an expression pedal.

With that realestate, you generally add many more effects along with a decent pitch shifter.

EHX Pitch Fork is the other route to look.

h9 using pitchfactor patches is smaller if you count out the expression pedal and it sounds good.

Yeah I’d say the bigsby pedal or the ThirdMan telegraph pedal. The telegraph is going to be even larger than the DigiWhammy though.

EHX also did a version 2 of the slammy pedal, which was basically the Pitchfork inside one of their plastic rocker platforms.
TC has the Brainwaves, which seem to use the mash feature for portamento.
Meris also makes the Hedra; multiple pitch generator, but I couldn't swear it does portamento.

There's the old EX-7 which has the whammy effect. It's about as long but narrower. I found it hard to actuate, but also haven’t pulled mine out in years.

I have an Enzo, it is such a touchy pedal, love it but wasn't hitting pay dirt for this particular function. Will continue though.

Love the game changer stuff, Plus is one of my fav of all time but their bigsby doesn't ho harmonization, which is essential for what I'm looking for.

I've been looking at the EHX Pitch Fork as a smaller alternative. The Latch/Momentary switch is a pretty good way of accomplishing some of the Whammy functionality in a much smaller pedal.

As much as I like whammy bars on basses, it's got nothing to do with my needs (well, 99% anyway). Pretty basses though, enjoy!

I've owned a lot of EH stuff, and have stopped using it because replacing it when it dies every few years blows. The build quality just isn't up to par, IME. Great designs, though.
