Digitech XBW as an envelope filter

I've got a good Octave and fuzz sound and am after an envelope. Opportunity has come and I can get one pretty cheap. Basically only need it as an ef but would open up for more sounds which could be fun.
What's the verdict on it and how is just the envelope filter sound/track?
