Dimarzio DP123 Problem

Hello guys...
Just got a set of used dimarzio Model Js...
I think I've been scammed...

My bass had previously a set of EMGs Js.

Changes the pots back to the stock ones, did everything according to schematics I found on the net and the Dimarzio website and ATM the status quo is:

Bridge pickup sounds GREAT when tone is all the way to bassy...
when turning the tone pot even a little bit clockwise, very audible hum appears when not touching the bass...

Neck Pickup does not produce any sound whatsoever.

When all the pots are open, if I touch the neck pot with a coin or something I get hum but not the charactistic thump of a working pickup...
WHen I touch the bridge on on the bottom 4poles i get thump but when I touch tem on the upper 4 poles I get thump and HUM.

I do not have a lot of experience in instrument wiring but I do have some on electronics...

Hope someone could help

Thanks a lot guys...

PS: I did earth the bridge to the tone-pot and both pickups to their respective pot.

CHeers!
