Dimarzio Pups?

I have two basses outfitted with Dimarzios, and love them both. The Model P is one of my favorite P pickups that I've tried.

EDIT: Also, the Model P has been a pretty standard upgrade to the Precision bass since the 70s, so some people obviously seem to like it.

Dimarzio are great choice imo. darker then most, higher output then regular fender type, very articulate. The P pups capable of excellent thud while still giving plenty of top end grind. Not as crunchy and growly as emg's but that can be up for by useing body wood that more accents growl and crunch like basswood, agathis, and of course ebubinga and ovangkol. With other woods like mahogany its a less aggressive version of growl and crunch. But diff no mud or brittleness/harshness like some P&J's give.
