Dingwall string length?

Does anyone know (or can measure) the length of Dingwall strings, not including the ball end and up to the start of the taper? I’m drawing up plans for a multi-scale headless bass with home-made tuners, 34” to 36” scale and it looks as if I need at least 38 ¼” for the low B string.

I’ve asked Dingwall. No reply as yet.

I can get them from Thomann in Germany, who have them in stock (I’m in France) so I asked them. The answer was “Unfortunately I don’t have this info”. Perhaps they don’t have a tape measure.

The Dingwall B string is usually a 39" wind, give or take. But, their fan is a 34"-37" on the 5 strings, so it may be too long for what you're doing.
