another +1 for swollen pickle. that thing is ridiculously versatile and i have found a few good different tones for both guitar and bass on it.
also, the tech 21 sansamp VT bass is well-loved here for its fat juicy bass goodness, but it makes a pretty nice OD for guitar as well.

Gt2 only really sounds good on bass if you use the California setting IMO. I know it's revered on here because of JC of Tool but I've owned it twice & each time it didn't last long on my board before I ebayed it.
I find it very hard to recommend something to someone with such a rig. The possibility of sounding "great" on bass, as is desired, is virtually precluded by the amplifier selection. But that's the way I see it.
