Disappointed in Darkglass B3K

I think it sounds best at low gain, played with a pick, I can't stand the Blower Box with the gain above 11 o'clock (I have the original one, which doesn't sound the same as the newer smaller one with the knobs at the same positions).
+1 for the Blower Box at low gain. Huge Idiotbox fan here, but I really don't like that pedal with the gain knob anywhere past 11 o clock. But at low gain settings, that pedal is very special. I actually think that Matt's pedals that aren't marketed for bass are his best bass dirts, particularly the D4, Static Fuzz and the Swanson.

Reporting back on the B3K!

So it turns out I actually like it a lot. It still isn't giving me quite the tone I'm going for but I think I need a new bass for that.

What I'm enjoying most about the B3K is the way that it responds to playing dynamics. Absolutely phenomenal reaction to player input, something I'd expect more from an amp, but this pedal has in spades. It is staying on the pedal board for sure!

I find the B3K to be a fitting OD for slap. I agree though, when it works it’s phenomenal but not the perfect OD. I’m still on the hunt myself. So far my favorite is the Genzler for a nice, balanced full range OD. Plays well on Bass VI too.
