Distorted Sound

Hello, I'm new to the board, I haven't been on a bass board. This was a great find. My name is Scott, been playing for some time. I will be getting involved, I found this because I was searching for an issue I'm having. I have a Carvin SB4000, been playing great. This last week I hear a distortion in my monitor, checked all my cables and batteries, changed and swapped. I have a buzz distortion I can't get rid of. Like I said, new batteries and cables swapped. I did notice the battery box is loose. I tried to pull the tabs out to tighten the connection. Any thoughts? I will call Carvin tomorrow.

Thanks

Have you tried a different bass through the same cable and amp? Just curious if it's your amp.

You say the battery box is loose. Do you mean the box itself is moving around in the bass or is the battery itself loose in the box? I have heard from others that they've had issues with slightly smaller batteries moving around in the box. The fix could be a thin piece of foam to snug the battery up.

Thanks,
Yes, I have played my bass out of 3 different systems, same result. Yes the battery is loose in the box, I will try to snug it up, I had this issue early on, could be the issue. I hope it's that easy. What was weird, it sounded like the buzz was in my in ears, the house sounded good. I plugged into an amp tonight and had the buzz. I did lower my action, I don't think that would give the buzz but maybe...
