Ditto Looper

I think what my friend is trying to say is... you should try the search. :)

Consensus is positive on the Ditto.

From my own experience, I like it a lot. Good sound and easy to use. The timing gets tricky when trying to stop loops on beat in real time because of the double click but you get good at it with practice. It's not the best looper out there but for its footprint it's great.

The sound quality is excellent. Just as clear as your original signal. Easy to use as can be imagined. The loop volume knob is a great bonus. If you use the same loop for every set, it will remain stored even after powered off. I have tried a lot of other loopers, and for my needs, this is the best. It is tiny, easy to use, and sounds great. There are larger loopers with a lot of different playback options, but for me, this is it.

So wait; what's this thing do now?

Is it a good replacement for the Boomerangs?

It depends what you want a looper for in the first place.
If you use a Boomerang in order to capture/loop a passage, then (possibly) overdub additional material on top of that loop, then (presumably) continue playing while that loop loops, and/or stop and start that same loop blah blah blah, then sure, a Ditto can do all that.

But as soon as you want to do any manipulation of the loop -- e.g., reverse it, or change the timing, or the tuning, half-speed/double-speed, extend it or cut it up, etc. --- you've just exceeded the capabilities of the Ditto.

Ditto is a capture/loop/overdub device, period.
