Mine ( ok both of mine ) went much like bassface73. Just under a year for it to be a done deal. Both of mine were simple divorces and fortunately have been amicable. That makes all the difference. I have a friend that was court ordered to family counseling before they could get divorced. I'm not sure how often that actually happens.

In some states, one party in the divorce can pend the proceedings and request and receive court-ordered marital counseling.

The only requirement for us was a parenting class and a stab at a court arbitrator. No wait time...

Dunno. I LIVED in WV......not from here.


(actually, oddly enough.....in Maryland it's legal to marry your second cousin, illegal in WV)
