DIY Kits - anyone tried these?

Has anyone here tried one of these DIY kits?
Obviously, you're not going to end up with a Sadowski, but for $200?!!?
Is it worth it? Because it seems like there could almost be no way it isn't worth it!!

I tried a jazz kit from amazon for around 90 usd spent maybe 30 on spray paint and now have a pretty ok bass, action is a little high I think I need to shim the neck, otherwise great hobby

If you have skills then yes. If not then it might be an exercise in frustration. I got a kit then traced the body and built a body from scratch. Then I got a neck off another bass and built my own bass. Everything is pretty much done except assembly. I think I may have to shim or tweak the neck.
