DIY Third hand?

I did a search for this topic, and kind of hit a roadblock at the three-character search terms being omitted thing.

I purchased a EHX Micro POG, and am actually quite impressed with the box! But I thought of making a pseudo-whammy by adding a third hand to the octave-up knob, but to pay 80 dollars for such a simple looking gizmo seems like too much!

Does anyone know if there's a way to build a DIY Third Hand pedal? Any tips or tricks or suggestions would be mucho appreciated.

Use a multieffect. Most of them have an octave up, expression pedal and make a decent whammy impression, even a cheapo Korg AX-5B.

As you will just control the volume of the octaves this way (no pitch manipulation), you could also try this: use a passive stereo volume pedal, and mix both outputs (dry/effect) of the POG together. Turn up your octave 100% and dial back your original signal on the POG.
Could work if the outputs are buffered...
