I’m thinking about trying to play a 5 string again. 99% sure it would be a used Lakland passive J of some sort which I will not be able to try before purchasing. I did search for DJ5 vs 5560 and found some answers. Seems the DJ is perceived as having a slimmer neck as well as smaller body. The slimmer neck appeals to me.

is there a discernible difference between the 2?

I have played a 55-60 and owned a DJ5 about three years. I would not mind having another one. It is a great bass.
