What did you get it for? For a band or just to bang on at home? If you're just playing it for fun at home... off you go.
We picked one up (specifically, my wife did, but I steal it on a routine basis) after we discovered a drum circle that a campus ministry center at our college ran. They shut it down after they found anthrax on one of the center's drums, but it was a blast while it lasted and we learned a lot.
I know there's at least one instructional DVD out there if you really want something to walk you through technique.
Well a quick google search (maybe you've already done one) turned this up fast: Invalid Link Removed There are youtube vids too.
But I would totally recommend the drum circle thing if you can find one in your area.
