Double Bass Do bows get better with age

I'm not sure about your theory. If that were the case wouldn't a Strad cost less than a new violin? Or Art Deco furniture less than mid-century modern? The ivory may chip the silver or gold winding and horsehair replaced, but I think the wood is pretty stable. Then you have to add the maker & reputation. Having said all that, an old bow (even Fetique etc) is not necessarily better than a comparable new bow.
