I've been writing basslines with an FM synth whose glide is intrinsically continuous, leading to things that would be impossible on a fretted bass but fun on a fretted one. Dropbox - weeknd_frnch_bline.mp3 - Simplify your lifei'm curious about how those two things are connected in your non-boomer experience(?)
I'm so very torn on it. On the one hand, no markings brings bragging rights, & someone I love is deeply into xenharmonic music where 12tet marks would be a distraction. On the other, I rarely hit standard pitches perfectly while singing so it's ambitious to expect I'll be able to on a bass either.you'd better hope that you are happy with a lined fingerboard as the options for plain are even more restricted unless you roll your own.
This thread is a metaphor for how I want my desired bass finish to ruffle some feathers.I love this thread. It’s got everything that it needs to shake up the boomer community![]()
I've thought about DIY refinishing and watched a few vids, my main problem is I'm living in a rented philly building that's super dusty & not climate controlled.Buy a can of Krylon...
