Do MTD Basses Record Well?

Yeah, in all seriousness, I got my 535 at the end of November, and I still have it. Most basses don't stick around with me for long, but this one has (in a relative sense, of course). I'm actually thinking about selling it, but only to acquire another one in blue with an alder body. We'll see what kind of price I can get--free market, don't fail me now!

As a testimony to MTD basses:

I watched Riverdance in Singapore over a year ago. As you might recall, there are in excess of 30 different instruments. (and miscellaneous dancers of Irish ancestry who feel compelled to yell in triumph after unrestrained bursts of footwork, but I digress..). I could hear the bass distinctively cutting through the mix and immediately remarked that it sounded like an MTD.

I managed to satisfy my curiosity during the break, and took a peek at the bass rig. True enough, there were 2 MTDs on stage. Fretted and a fretless 535s.

About the basses: One of the best bass tones i ever heard live was from a guy playing a maple Tobias. He was with Mino Cinelu, latin drummer.. He cut through like a knife, and got a myriad of tones out of the instrument. I don't remember what amplification he used, though. Killer player, killer sound!

John I'm sure that person is a great teacher but I don't need the hassles that it would cause when I showed up with my MTD Bass! :D I would have to take one to the lessons just to spite them!
