You may be interested to know that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s. For your interest, I have included a graph of the approximate number of pirates versus the average global temperature over the last 200 years. As you can see, there is a statistically significant inverse relationship between pirates and global temperature.

Your theory is wrong, you jerk. They did a core sample of the ice in Antarctica, and it showed that the level of pirates 1200 years ago was twice as high as it was in the 1800s, yet the temperature was just as high as it is now! :p

My elementary school used to be the Pacific Avenue Pirates.

After 9/11 they changed it to the Pacific Avenue Patriots.

Pretty much the gayest thing in history right there.

We may laugh all we want right now, but 200 years from now it won't be all that funny I think... And I don't mean the pirate thing, but the global warming thing.
In fact I think it's a joke only in the USA. Every other country I've been to (and I've been to quite a lot of countries lately) takes this quite seriously.

Politicians proclaim that hydrogen fuel cells are a solution to the global warming problem. What they seem to forget is that by Hydrogen combustion (or usage in fuel cells) the product is steam, which is also a GHG (greenhouse gas).


Politicians don't know Jack. Let engineers take over.

Plus you have to expend energy to form hydrogen. The "energy expended to create/energy available from" ratio is nothing NEAR petroleum. I don't think there's much out there that can compete with fossil fuels when it comes to that.

So how are you going to create all this hydrogen? What kind of energy are you going to use?

There are a lot more than 17 pirates. In 2006, there were 239 pirate attacks, 188 people taken hostage by pirates.

And, joke's aside, it blows my mind that people thinks it's foolish to reduce emissions, whether for environmental or economic independence issues. Even if, by some long-shot, global warming and chemical emissions trends are coincidence there's lots of other reasons to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
