Heres a project that i started years ago and never have a time to finish, or I always find an excuse that I don't have time

No...not in the sense that I'd apply the definition but I do have my style and the way I apply it to the music I play.
I'm not a clone player and I bring my thing.
Not so out there that most would notice but I think I make things interesting

I said yes, but its with a few caveats.

Do I create my own original works? Yes I do. That should probably be enough to call myself an artist.

That said, I am not trying to properly market myself etc to earn a living at it. I am not sure if that should be part of this equation or not. A lot of people are giving Suno a few instructions and calling the result art and themselves artists which they most certainly are not so I feel like the bar needs to be appropriately high to claim that title

Its very controversial these days. Academics have been replaced by marketing and thats killing art. Literally, for a few years now, it's been full of "artists".
I think art is about a work making you feel, even if it has a simple figure, but placed where it needs to be with the right colors. These things are all in my head. But as the years go by, I make simpler things, with fewer and fewer details, and I like them more and more.

Only on a technicality. Obviously I just am since I write and play music, but I don't think I can actually start calling myself one until I put stuff out. That's literally just for me though, everyone else is the exception to my weird personal standard
