Cooking FTW

I usually get some idea (the basics), and then just go with it myself... (ie... "where is the salt, where is the salt, damn salt... mmmm this thing will be good in there... wth is it? oh um... smells like it might be ok... ok i'll put it in there... salt, salt, salt hmmmmm garlic... this thing does need more garlic... salt salt salt, mmmmm is that soy sauce? who cares, it looks good... salt, salt, salt, mmmm this stuff, i've seen it before, it's going in... salt, salt salt, oh there is salt... oh and behind it is some sort of a thing... eh it's going in there too, hmmm... hmmmm, eh... who cares... if it's not enough i can always add more salt if it's too much i can always make the dish bigger...") that was an episode of me cooking...

PS Don't touch another man's grill....

Yep, but same as you I would rather use someones recipe the first time. If I make it again I will experiment a little and tailor it to my taste. Especially things with marinades and sauces.

I'm still perfecting my beer can chicken. My older brother has challenged me to a cook-off this 4th of July. Poor guy doesn't stand a chance. :p

I prefer to go without a recipe, although lately people have been asking me to write down my recipes so they can cook for themselves.

I don't really bake ever, but if I need to I'll work from a recipe as baking is more precise than most types of food prep.

I prefer to go shopping and see what's fresh and what strikes my fancy and then work from there. I tend to like to make things with bold flavors and super fresh ingredients.
