Do you dislike maple fingerboards?

I don't like pasty white neck wood, if it's nitro orange, or tung oil - I like it.

I only like matching headstocks on rosewood fretboards. I think it looks very odd on maple boards.

I really dont care either way but if I was buying new I would get a maple board because I am lazy and maple is easier to upkeep. You can just use windex and paper towels during string changes to get finger gunk off. Rosewood requires some good lemon oil to not dry out and some scrubbing with a old tooth brush to get the funk all off.

The darker the better for me; to the point where I would never even consider buying a bass with a maple board. I love maple bodies, especially nice figured ones, I like maple necks, but boards? No!

It's not that I dislike maple fret boards but I prefer Rosewood.

The one thing I don't like is the one-piece neck and fret board combined.

My Lakland has a birds-eye maple fretboard which is good, and my Lull has a rosewood fretboard, which I like. Both have rolled edges.

While I have both, I prefer the look and feel of rosewood.

My dream bass neck would be a 5 string purpleheart jazz neck with a birdseye Maple fretboard, flame maple skunk stripe and reversed 4+1 headstock.

I'm also a fan of graphite necks and ebony fretboards.

I'm mostly indifferent. I did specifically go out of my way to acquire a bass with a maple fingerboard for my arsenal...but that's the only one, and I see no reason to specifically pursue any more just because of the maple.

I prefer maple boards but only if they're gloss...scraping green gunge off the unfinished ones was never something I enjoyed! Extra points for blocks and binding as well.

I used to dislike them, purely on looks alone, but now I don't give a damn what the wood is once it sounds good and plays well.

to me : Ebony then Laquered finish Maple, Satin finish Maple and last Rosewood.

Do you dislike maple fingerboards? I do not. With a flexible preamp and a treble roll off, it's easy to manipulate the tone of the maple fingerboard.

Exactly...not to mention I've never liked the look of a painted bass with a rosewood fretboard and a natural headstock.

If a bass plays well and sounds good I don't particularly care what it's fingerboard is made out of.

So I guess it's carrots for me.

I have maple, rosewood, pao fero, ebony, and Dymondwood. No complaints here.
