Do you GAS more when you are feeling stuck in your playing?

I'm noticing that I do.

When I'm really feeling it in my playing, I don't much have the care (or the time) to look around.
And honestly, the basses I have get the sounds that I love. When I play my Zon I get the fretless sound I hear in my head.
I don't need another bass. At all.

So why am I drooling over Michael Manring's bass,, and the Zon TJ's and Jerzy Drozds here on TB?

I really think it's because I'm in an "integrating" phase in my playing ,where I don't see or feel progress. So I feel kinda stuck and my eyes start wandering. Kinda like relationships, come to think of it.

I think this also goes with we always want what we can't have. GAS is never cured,there will always be a better bass that what you got.

I think we all have it buried in our minds that an amazing $4000 will make us better players. Sadly, we know it's not true, but it can't hurt to dream

I passed on a EBMM becuase my P bass is enough and is a real sweet bass. So in order to make myself feel better and the fact i just made a nice profit on selling a bass i just bought a cheap-o SX, even something like that can get you up and into something for 100$ its cheap entertainment in my book.

Yeah, I absolutely do - or, to be more specific, I get GAS from spending time on TB while I'm semi-busy at work, and everything's forgotten when I'm on the stage for a gig. I think it's only natural

I'm perfectly happy with what I have, and if I wasn't, I guess I should have my head examined for forking over all that dough
But I guess more wants more, especially when there's far between gigs.
