Do you name your basses?

Nope. Never.

I call my murdered out '87 Mustang "The Hearse", but I only refer to my basses as my Warwick, my Pedulla, my Jazz Fretless, and my Stingray.

The only reason I named my car that is because it's heavily modified and I take it to shows where giving your car a nickname is fairly common.

The Hearse, by the way:

Well...I didn't name my bass when I had just one.
I've purchased a second bass so I have a backup at shows.

Both are Fender Precisions set up pretty much the same so the transition to the backup, if necessary, will be seamless, sound wise.

The Fender 50's Classic Precision in honey blonde is known as "The Blonde".
The Fender American Special (slightly modded tone circuit ;)) in triburst is known as "The Brunette".
