So you get your sense of accomplishment from praise and applause of others. How is that not about ego?
Just playing the devil's advocate here![]()
Yesterday was the first time I pulled the plug on playing because I didint want to deal with other peoples issues.![]()
I don't need to perform, but I need to make music.
hehe, nah i don't need Praise or applause, its just something I enjoy doing for myself, even in an empty auditorium, just standing on a stage is inspiring to me.
Then is it really a performance?![]()

When it's good, it's very good. When it's bad, it's still mildly enjoyable.
There is a difference between "want" and "need".
We need food, water, shelter and clothing.
I don't need it as much as say food perhaps, but it DOES have an amazing effect on me. Hearing that applause yesterday was just as stimulating as the music we had just made.don't have to, but i do really enjoy it.

Needing more than Food, water and shelter is what truly separates us from animals. Nothing in the known world is greedy like a Human is, some wants become needs.
I can't disagree that nothing is more greedy than a human, yet a want is still a want even if it perceived as a need. Greed, by its very definition, is not a need.
Playing music, listening to music is all well and good and, it can produce very positive feelings however it lacks the necessary prerequisites that describe a need.
