Well... its been a few years since high school, and i've never missed performing more...
It was a huge part of my life, and it filled a hole I never knew existed till my first marching band competition... After high school I planned to attend a particular college that had an amazing marching band, however I had to have an emergency surgery, and that left me out of it, and now that im all healed up... i've aged out, I can no longer compete... It breaks my heart, the thing I loved most in my short life I can no longer do, I lost my chance.
Now I support my friends band... they are a band of 3 brothers and two non brothers, a progressive metal band, they're very talented, and I know all of them and have for a long time, they're great friends, i go to all their shows and help them out, help carrying their crap and being hyper critical of their performances (Apparently im a good critic, lol)
and now that im listening to all these musicals and taking vocal lessons, and working hard at it I just want to perform again... i've been feeling empty for awhile and while I knew why, it didn't sink in... do i belong on a stage ? I dont know, but I hope I do. Its all i've ever wanted to do and I miss it so much... Jazz bands, concert band, Marching band and Drumline I miss it all.
The thing i want to do most is be in a musical with my friends... Two of the members of that prog metal band (one brother, one not) are musical theater kids, and they have been their whole life, they tell me im a great singer and now i feel like I need to do this.. I couldn't imagine having more fun that being in a musical. I think its the only thing that will truly make me happy as I used to be.. This healing process has been one of the worst time's of my life, its kept me from all the things I love.
Is it just me ? or does anybody else *NEED* to perform ? Like you can't live without it... Please tell me im not the only one, I think my inner Theater freak is coming out !!!
EDIT: This doesn't only pertain to Musicals, im talking about ANY type of performance, im just telling my story !!!
NOTE: This one is too serious for Carrots !!! I need to know !!!

At least for some months... Well, my passion is playing music and I coudn't imagine not ever performing, as I love it very much, but since the band I used to play in a few years back was ended, I haven't had too many gigs, only a few (max 10) per year I think. But I've had more time to practice and am a much better bassist nowadays...
