And the rush contingency seems to be making a very bad showing today. Which is bizarre as it was scientifically proven within the past 2 or 3 years I can't remember that rush would win all poles.
I dated this French girl, probably 45 y.o. now and she had no clue who Rush was. I even played her Tom Sawyer....still no clue. I was in awe.

Pics are encouraged.:)
We played for a Birthday Party in a large vacant warehouse gig and the Birthday Boy asked all attendees to come in western wear including the band. Kind of unusual for a California Beach Town band but that is what the customer asked for.

When I lived in OK and TX, I bought a couple pair of cowboy boots, but drew the line at a hat. My native Texan wife's family is full of ranchers and at least one honest to God cowboy. This Yankee would have taken all kinds of grief from them if I showed up in a cowboy hat.
I tried on a pair of cowboy boots a while ago. That cured any likelihood that I would ever own a pair.

It was a long distance/fling. My prerequisite for a keeper is watching GG Allin Hated (documentary) by, Todd Phillips. If the girls throw back a few beers with me and are not scarred and call me the next day, then it's magic :D One of the reasons that I married the one i'm still with. 20 years.

I don’t own a cowboy hat but I have a lot of ball caps for golfing and other outdoor activities. I also have a couple fedoras and a jungle hat that a Desert Storm vet gave me.

I had a pair of cowboy boots many years ago. They were the most uncomfortable footwear I ever owned. Waste of money.

That's a big ask, glad you found the one!

I consider cowboy hats to be among those clothing items that serve a very specific purpose, and if you aren't wearing it for that purpose, then you're just using it as an affectation.

In other words, cowboy hats are for cowboys, ranchers, and similar folks. If you're an accountant but you wear a cowboy hat every time you go out in public to socialize, then I think that's kind of weird.

I'm not singling out cowboy hats. I say the same thing about other distinctive items of clothing.

If you wear a knit winter cap in summer, then it's a good bet that you're not doing so to keep your head warm, but rather to project a particular fashion image.

I'll admit that I was guilty of this type of behavior in the past. For a couple of years in my late teens, I typically wore a green army trenchcoat everywhere. There was no reason for it - I just thought it made me look cool, especially in ironic combination with my long hair.

I was wrong.
