Do you play more than just a bass?

I took classical piano lessons for 10 years, so I am most proficient on the keys. I also play guitars. However, playing basses is the most fun for me.
I play rhythm guitar to a decent but not great standard. Bass is definitely my main instrument. I also program really basic drum loops for my demos and add incredibly simple keyboard parts (mostly just single chord pads or other simple textural stuff). I’d like to get better at all these instruments (especially keys) but I’d like to get better at the bass, too.
Is that Jazzmaster a through-neck? I bet it sounds amazing. I’m not normally a big fan of burst/natural finishes without a pickguard but that is just beautiful.

Piano, then trumpet (soprano bugle for my DCI days) then bass. Always a vocalist.

I play guitar and brass instruments. That said, my chops on those are just a bit rusty at the moment.
Trumpet was my first instrument, then guitar, then lower brass instruments, tuba & baritone horn, then I started playing bass in Junior High School. As an adult I tried playing the French horn (it was not good) and played the mellophone instead for years.
At this point, just about 70, bass is and has been my best instrument for the last 50 years. Warning, I just bought a flute….LOL.
I'm actually a guitar player impersonating a bassist.
When I was a kid, I thought I wanted to be a bass player, but a neighborhood "friend" I looked up to, said "you can't hear the bass, play guitar".
That was my first experience with bad (musical) advice.
Strat is my go to guitar.

Started on trumpet back in 96 in middle school. Was my main instrument all through college. I was an ed major, so I learned how to play pretty much all the standard school band/orchestra instruments (although today I doubt I could get more than a few notes out on any of the woodwinds). But while in college, I got to try upright and it was the coolest thing ever. A few months later, my roommate and I were at a pawn shop/music store (yea... weird combo). He wanted a gun, and I looked at all the instruments. He got an AK47, and I got some Jay Turner (I can't remember the name) cheapo single jazz pickup bass, and the rest was history.
I still play a little brass here and there for fun. I try to play in the yearly Tuba Christmas on baritone, and will pull out a trumpet or my antique cornet here and there for fun. But my chops are dead.
Oh, and I do play a little bit of recorder... one of my bands does Stairway and me and the drummer (and sometimes other ppl) will pull out recorders for the first bit.
But otherwise, it's bass 100% of the time, all the time

I should have started on a piano, but at my age 8 the piano suffered an irreparably cracked peg board, and fueled a family wiener roast. The harp and pedals are buried 5’ deep somewhere on the old family homestead. LOL.
Its replacement was a Sears console organ that sounded like crap. Thank heavens my brother left his guitar behind he had won in a pinochle tournament at college, when he went back the next semester.

No, that would be drums back when I was 8-9, and then I picked up guitar in my teens. I'm 42 now, and I've only played bass for 2-3 years, but I love it!
These days it's bass, but my main and go-to instrument for most of my life has been drums, which I've played in every band I've been in (including my current band, before I switched to bass).
I can play some guitar and drums. I started with classical guitar lessons, then switched to bass about a year later.
Low D Irish whistle for something highly portable that doesn't reqire electricity.
After voice then drums whistles were the third instrument people discovered.
Compared to basses and amps the simplicity of a whistle is appealing on a deep primal level.

It’s the Parallel Universe Spark-O-Matic Jazzmaster from a year ago. It’s Fender but a limited production. Bolt neck. 3 pc body, mahogany center, ash wings and the wings are hollowed. Duncan mini humbuckers. So it’s a Fender Jazzmaster that’s nodding at a Firebird. It rings a ton with the hollowed wings. I’m usually a Tele guy but I’m in love with this one.
And yeah, I think all the chrome on top pulls off the no-pick guard really well.
Sometimes, i play piano, but only at home, because the condition of my skills are so bad that it would take me a long, long time to insert myself into a band. Just for fun, just to relax the mind.......

- i used to play saxophones (for a living!).
- i came up with a piano and i still use it for writing and arranging.
- started playing bass in my mid-20s.
i'm lucky to still be playing anything, but i think i'd just say, "i'm a musician, i play bass." i'm bass-ically a bass player.
