I'm from New Zealand and i have a Ric and a MIA Fender jazz V deluxe, but i also have basses from else where around the world.
Without sounding rude or offending anyone, the USA is not the only country in the world, and I think everyone would be proud to own something crafted from their own home country.
I do own basses MIA, but didn't choose to buy them because of that, I chose them because of sound, quality, feel/look, playability and availability.

I agree! In my original post I mentioned that I did not intend for the thread to be ethnocentric. By that I meant that I wasn't trying to put the USA and its culture above any other country. This is just a poll to see if people from around the world played MIA basses, not just those in/from the USA. :)

Thanks for posting!

I'm an American. I don't have a preference for American guitars, it just so happens that many of mine happen to be. My next guitar will hopefully be a Stingray.

I've got
82 Fender P-bass USA
61 Fender P-bass USA
67 Fender P-bass USA
77 Fender P-bass USA
06 Fender P-bass USA (JV series Japanese neck)
08 Jazz bass Mexico (JV series Japanese P-bass neck)
Custom Jazz bass USA

I am not American, but I would love to play with American Top Models.

I've had 2x Yamaha, 1x Korean Ovation, 1x EBMM SR4, 1x Squier PJ, so still more Asian than Americans represented in my collection.

I play one CIJ and one MIA Fender P-Basses.
I think my choice have nothing to do with their 'country of maker' oriented :)
but I vote for my CIJ, because I found it nicer at this moment than my MIA. It can change tho :D

Add me to the "I'm an American and play whatever basses I like" group. Does not really matter to me WHERE it's made, it's how it plays and sounds that I care about :)

I agree completely. One of my main players is Korean made. I just take interest in this kind of poll, I guess.

The international poll voters were driving force behind the creation of this thread more than anything. I was really curious to see those results.
