I played a Fender P from '75 to 2011 used technique and right hand position for different tones, then bought a EBMM 25th Anniversary 4H. It had 4 band eq, active/passive switch and series/parallel switch. After hours of trying EQ combinations, I settled for mostly flat with small adjustments for environment and a couple songs BUT the Active/passive switch and series parallel switch gave me usable TONE options without having to mess with EQ. Although still used hand position and technique
Now owning a Precision Ultra I am getting what I want again with active/passive switch also using blend control eliminates need for drastic hand placement and technique.
