Do you prefer straight or 90 degree plugs?

Not as long as straight? Why is that?

They'll last just as long if you unplug just like you do a straight jack. Many just grab the 90 and pull though, putting uneven stress on the jack cover and the jack itself. Something I learned many years ago when I had a 90 with a plastic cover.

A preference here for the non-dangle angle - but either way's fine really.

My basses all have front-mounted jacks, so it's 90 for me at the bass end. I usually use cables with one straight plug and one angled, so I can reverse the cable if the situation requires it.

I’m not sure if this is the appropriate forum to discuss, so...

I have always preferred to plug a 90 deg. jack into my bass, regardless of whether the output is on the front or the edge. I just worry that if the cord gets stepped on or the bass is knocked against something, there’s a greater chance of damaging either the bass or the cord if it’s a straight plug.

If you prefer to use a straight plug, why so?

I like 90degree going into the bass, and on the pedalboard. Straight only for inside the back of the rack.

Darn you all.
I was happy forever going straight into bass, now I need to buy an angle plug.

I use straight to bass then straight to pedal tuner, from tuner straight to 90 degree at the amp input.
To prevent pull out of the cables or knocking off of the amp the DI, Power and Amp input cables are all tied to the top handle of the cab.

It's funny, but this thread just made me realize I've been using all straights for like the last year. That means my better cables must have been wrapped incorrectly and stowed away somewhere I'll never find them by my wife. I have one 90, which is a red one, which I'm just realizing I miss very much. I also have two of the grey ones that come with Fender AVRI basses and are straight, but have VERY short set screw barrels...

Now I'm off to find them.
