Missed on a left-handed Birdsong. Didn't realize that if you bid anything, the buy it now option is then unavailable. Would have bought at the Buy-it-now option if I knew that.
In 2019, I nearly bought a Fender Starcaster in cherry burst for $600. If only I had known that it would be worth 2-3x that much now!
Fretless?!?!?!? Endless possibilities for me to hit the wrong note. Currently I have at least a 1 out of 12 chance to get it right!

Last summer, I was in my local GC and I saw a 1976 Rickenbacker 4001FL in mapleglo. I asked the attendant to let me play it and it was the best fretless bass I've ever played! It also looked stunning and was in excellent condition for its age. I talked to the attendant and I told him that I owned a 1972 Fender Jazz Bass that I wanted to trade for the 4001FL. He took my number and told me to come back the next morning with my bass to potentially make a trade.
So I went back the next morning with my bass and they both showed me more info about my bass and they appraised it. They offered me $1,400 cash or trade value towards the 4001FL. I declined and walked away because I would have needed another $1,900 on top of my bass to trade for the 4001FL.
Next time I went to GC, the 4001FL was gone. But I did trade my Jazz Bass for my 2022 Rickenbacker 4003 a few months later. I wasn't going to let the 2022 4003 get away like the fretless 4001 did, so I made the trade. Since then, my new 4003 is one of my favorite basses!
