I am on a REALLY tight budget as usual and i was wondering if I could get a nice crunchy, growly overdrive out of the DOD 250? It's cheap so i can't expect that much, but would it be a decent alternative to the fulltone bass drive. I like to play a lot of Incubus and I love Dirk's overdriven Eden tone on songs like Have You Ever.

I liked the DOD 250 pretty well when I test drove one. I don't remember it loosing much bass but I think it has a certain harshness, especially with an active bass. I think it has less of the mid hump of the Tube Screamers. IIRC.
It loses bass (easy mod to fix it if you're into that type of thing), but overall it's a great little box.
I'm a big proponent of the DOD 250, especially on a budget. I use it as a pretty aggressive overdrive, with a pick, and for that application it's great.
I would LIKE for my band to do incubus covers, but no one likes them. We do more classic rock stuff. It's a shame because Incubus is my favorite band (Dirk Lance era). I play a lot of incubus when i am playing by myself, just not with my band.
I liked mine.
As mentioned, you can mod to give more low end and an LED so you know when the damn things on, but for the price I dont think you can really go wrong with it.
