DOD Ice Box

ok....last night, my Chorus pedal crapped the bed. Chorus is part of my constant tone, so I cant really be without it. I have the opportunity to buy a DOD Ice Box from Craigslist for $30.
I know that any one of a multitude of boutique pedals will sound better, but right now, I can barely afford this one. Can anyone offer any input on whether the Ice Box is "bass friendly?"

I'm not sure if it's bass friendly, but I used to use one of guitar back in the day. I loved it...and one of these days I'd like to get another.

It was a very nice, lush chorus sound. For $30, try it and find out...

It doesn't suck bass, but it does sound a little thin. Usable pedal though; I gave mine to my guitard and he gets some seriously nice sounds out of it.

Well, it sounds like it may be worth the investment. It's funny how you dont get much response around here if you're not talking about Boss, EH, MXR or Boutique brands. Thanks a lot to the two guys who did take time to post!

DOD released about 100 different stomps over the years (including all the different versions).

A lot of people here LOVE the Boss BF-2 and/or GEB-7. As for the SYB-5 and AW-3? not much love.

I don't love the new FX25B. DOD is a company where I've had really good experiences with their older pedals but have had more negative than positive feelings about their current line. The 250RI being the exception.

That's the reality. There's a ton of DOD boxes and most people haven't tried enough of them.

It isn't gear snobbery IMO. If you'd asked about a Danelectro pedal I'd likely have something to say since as cheap pedals go I think they are generally better.

All I remember about the ice box was I didn't like it for some reason, but I dislike most choruses for some reason, ones I like fit on a very small list sadly.

my old DOD analog chorus seems to chorus the highs a lot more than the lows, and that drives me nuts. its also noisy as hell.

its old.. and analog.. and cheap. i dont know much about the ice box, but id try it first.
