DOD Meatbox FX32 No Sound ?

Hello all. Recently I acquired a DOD FX32 Meatbox off the 'bay. Plugged her into an old Kustom amp with a 2x15 cabinet and woaaaaaah the walls are shaking! Awesome. Didn't have much time to play around so I packed it up and left it on my desk. I come back the next day, plug it in and.... nothing happens? I'm just running my jazz bass ---> meatbox ---> amplifier and with the effect on I'm not getting any sound. Just a faint faint bass sound very far in the distance with some crackling happening every now and again. I even replaced a brand new battery out of the package and still the same. With the pedal light off I get clean bass signal just fine. I'm not very pedal savvy so I'm reluctant to go "under the hood". Anybody have a similar problem/remedy to the situation?

Sounds like a grounding issue or a short on the input/output where the jacks connect to the board.

Post some pics of the inside of the pedal, specifically around the jacks.

Also, just to be sure, did you try multiple settings on the effect controls?
If the Meat is cranked up but the other controls aren't, the output can be very low.

Yeah I tried multiple settings on the controls. Wiggled em up and down and all around. If I crank the volume on the amp all I hear is a fuzzy distorted octaver type of effect, but still very low output for how much the amp and pedal are cranked up.

Here are some pictures

No. That's not likely to be the problem because:

... With the pedal light off I get clean bass signal just fine.

The clean signal goes through the same input and output jacks the effected signal does.

Portphilia, I'd try "exercising" the controls by turning them back and forth through their full rotation. One of the pots (controls) could have some dust in the controls that are preventing the signal from passing through. Or the resistive track inside the pot can get worn out from use, if that's the case a pot may have some dead spots but will work in some others. That's about all you can do, if that doesn't fix it, it's tech time. Or see about returning the item to the eBay seller. o_O
