Does anyone here like Tesla?

Love 'em. There were on the bill for the first concert I ever went to, along with Ratt and Great White back in 1989. I didn't really know who they were, so I went home and read up on them. After learning about Nikola Tesla and what happened to him, I totally liked them even more. I also thought it was cool that they picked a band name like that one back in the days when other bands were coming up with wild names.

I listen to them quite a bit still, at least a few times per week. They will be here on March 9th for a concert. I'm pretty sure I'll be going. I have a pick from one of their shows I went to back in the day. I'm going to bring it with me. I know, I'm a dork.

Never went to the concert and was never a fan but they we're in Utica, NY back in the day opening for David Lee Roth and were staying at the Sheraton. Myself and a friend shared a couple beers with one of the guitar players and the drummer in the lounge. I remember the drummer being really down to earth, a conversationalist. The guitarist was very laid back, quiet & mellow. Seemed like nice guys.

Yeah, Tesla's cool.

But every time he comes over, he takes apart my amps and stuff and makes radios out of them. It was cool the first time, but after that it gets to be a drag.

Like that one time- he disassembled all my bass amps, all my guitar amps and my stereo in the basement- and I come back downstairs, and this is what he's got going on:

Needless to say, my wife was pretty pissed. Then he just flashes that ol' Tesla smirk and all is forgiven...

it's a pretty good unit for magnetic field strength, sure

That's what I thought too, was about to go there, but got here late. N. Tesla left his mark out by my town,His place was called Wardenclyffe, His lab is still standing. It was designed by Stanford White, and was declared a Superfund site in the 80's after AGFA dumped photochemicals in the ground there. There was a tower there before WW I. Now who reads too much!!?? Thank you for your time, we now return you to your show currenttly in progress.

So they were asses 'cause they wanted to meet/greet the fans that came to see them and were unhappy when you guys tried to cut that short? :eyebrow:

Well both, they didnt want to follow any of the rules which the event manger went over with them. They kept bringing in more people then were alllowed and acted like they could do what ever they pleased. It was a mess and they just wouldnt listen to staff so we had to clean it up. Not that it was a biggy but i remmember that show and they were acting like it was 1985.

That part does suck, but I do think it's cool that they wanted to interact with those that still find them relevant. Most that subscribe to the "rock star" mindset want very little to do with those who buy their tickets, albums, and merchandise.

A few years back those old geezers got back togehter and did a tour.

Geezers?!? People in their forties are geezers?

That's funny, they didn't release their debut until 1986.

Based on responses above, it sounds like they're pretty cool guys. Maybe they just have a problem with pushy security who carry preconceived notions of what bands are worthy to play. :eyebrow:
