Does anyone NOT like Elixirs?

I don't care for them either, for the same reasons a lot of people have mentioned. Slimy feeling, sound half dead out of the package. They don't seem to tune as well either. Not a clear enough note for me. I prefer DR's and D'Addario's.

I have them on my ESP LTD B-4E and like them. I'ts very likely that I'll buy another set in the future. They feel very nice on that bass. It's hard to imagine using any other strings on it, now that I get to thinking about it.

I'd been using Elixir's until Brian at Low End tossed a set of S.I.T. Power Steels on a bass he modded of mine. So I A/B'd the Power Steels to the Elixir's and was actually pretty surprised that the Elixir's sounded surprisingly a lot like the Steel strings. However, with S.I.T strings being $18 or so for a 5-string set it's tough to spend $50+ for an extra long 5-string set of Elixir's.

I've been using the S.I.T. string since. And happy with them.

I don't like elixirs because their coat makes them too slippery. Very annoying while tapping.

I tried them. After about a month they started to shed, like my strings had dandruf as the coating slowly came off. Haven't used them since.

i use S.I.T. strings.

I do not like thier (or any other coated string) sound or feel. It is okay for those who like them, but they really are n ot my cup of tea. I can see the value in them for a person who has high acidity problems though.

I HATE them on bass.
